A Little history of RockinBikes

RockinBikes opened it's doors in December of 2012, in a little corner of Yelverton. We've grown a bit since then and moved to our new larger shop just on the other side of town. We've taken on some great brands since we opened, it's all stuff that we would actually buy ourselves. We pick the best gear on the market based on our own experience, recommendations from friends or people we trust and reviews in the cycling press. We've both been riding bikes for 25 years, we've seen trends come and go. We know what works and what doesn't (we're constantly repairing the stuff that some brands still can't get right!).

James lives and breathes bikes! He has worked in the industry since he was 15 years old, where he was running a cycle hire centre at a local farm. Sending out bikes, doing repairs and basic maintenance. He moved on from there but remained working with bikes in other local shops and with a local distributor. He has been riding for as long as he can remember and has at some point been into most of the disciplines - road, downhill, trail riding and even street riding! He's passion for cycling has taken him to France, Canada, Germany, Italy and Austria.

James is currently riding a Cervelo R5 Disc or a Focus Paralane on the roads and off road he rides a Whyte 909 or a Santa Cruz 5010.

Mat got his first mountain bike in 1990, he's been riding in Canada, France, Belgium and all over the UK. He started road riding in Northern Ireland after going on various adventures on a borrowed bike. Mat can regularly be found in the local woods on his Orange Clockwork Evo, a Whyte S-150 and on the roads on his Cervelo R3 Disc.
