The Renthal Fatbar is the ultimate aluminium downhill race handlebar. Renthal designed the Fatbar to be the ultimate combination of lightness, strength, and durability. With much lower weight, this all-new Fatbar is also now ideally suited for trail bike use, where a super-wide handlebar is required.
The Renthal Fatbar has already gained cult status as the aluminium handlebar of choice for World Cup downhill. Eight World Championship gold medals have been won using the Fatbar, cementing it as one of the most successful race products of all time.
The Renthal Fatbar is constructed from exclusive, high-strength, 7 series aluminium. The material and specific heat treatment processes have been carefully selected to give the ultimate in strength and durability.
Millions of tiny steel shot are blasted at high velocity at the Fatbar, leaving a textured surface finish. This shot peening process vastly increases the fatigue life and hence durability of the handlebar.
The Fatbar features a hard anodising surface treatment. This finish is far superior in abrasion resistance to standard anodising, to keep the handlebar looking new.
The all-new Fatbar is at a much lower weight, from just 305g. This has been achieved with more efficient use of material, removing any excess to reduce weight, whilst retaining the strength, durability, and flex characteristics of the original Fatbar.
Multiple options are available to suit every rider's preference: 10mm, 20mm, 30mm, and 40mm rise in 800mm width and either 31.8mm or 35mm clamping diameter. Plus, there are 50mm, 60mm, and 70mm rise options, with an 820mm width and 35mm clamping diameter.
